Described as genuine, empathetic, caring, kind, organized, diligent and possessing a never-give-up mindset, Amy Stec utilizes the skills from her former career in project management to help her clients successfully navigate their real estate transactions. Born and raised in the Chicago area, Amy is a graduate of Deerfield High School and the University of Kansas—Go Jayhawks! After graduating, she returned to Chicago and was a project manager at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in many departments for over thirteen years. Amy holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, while also pursuing a culinary degree in pastry and baking. Once she and her husband bought their first home, she developed an interest in and found her passion for real estate. Amy left corporate America and hasn’t looked back, although she is still an avid baker whenever she can fit it in (usually for clients and potential clients)!

When asked how she does business, Amy says, “My philosophy is to provide a transparent process for my clients with lots of communication every step of the way. I don’t play games and will work as hard as I can to get the best deal for you. I really enjoy meeting new people and helping them make good decisions, and I hope I will get to meet you soon.”

Amy strives to make the already stressful process of finding a new home or selling a home more enjoyable. She does this by taking the time to get to know her clients which allows her to better understand their wants and needs. Prior to beginning her real estate practice, the last position Amy had was working on a recruiting and orientation team. She would individualize and organize each person’s onboarding program to ensure each new employee had a positive onboarding experience and that they felt welcome and valued. That position prepared her for real estate, as starting a new job and buying a home can create similar emotions of stress, excitement, or being scared of the unknown. Knowing how to put someone at ease in an exasperating situation is difficult, but it’s where Amy flourishes. Additionally, her project management experience helps her manage all of the steps and make the transaction as easy and hassle-free as possible for her clients.

Amy’s real estate practice is primarily centered in the Deerfield, Buffalo Grove and Vernon Hills areas; however, she serves clients all over the North and Northwest Suburbs and parts of Chicago. Amy works with referrals as well as new buyer and seller clients.

After college Amy lived in the Gold Coast and Wicker Park, where her sister still resides. She and her husband currently reside in Vernon Hills and are raising two wonderful boys under the watchful eye of their beloved lab-mix, Bear. Amy loves to bake, read, listen to podcasts, watch Jayhawks Basketball & March Madness, and play softball. She is very involved in the Chicagoland Jewish community, often volunteering and attending events with her family, specifically with the Jewish United Fund (JUF). She was on their Young Leadership Board of Directors for four years from 2014–2018. She continues to volunteer and has now brought her kids into community work as well.
